“The fact that the very first song on Hansen's second full-time album SALT is a lavishly orchestrated escape from silence is the most beautiful twist on this collection of consistently beautiful songs and sound paintings.”

“Many have tried their hand at combining acoustic folk and electronic experiments. But only rarely does the fusion succeed as easily and beguilingly as with Marla Hansen.”

“Marla Hansen's voice always has an incredible radiance, the arrangements are clear and transparent, sometimes downright touching in their sparseness.”

“All this makes "Dust" a work with a thousand facets, which song after song does not fail to give surprises and variations, all managed with great class and with a dose of elements oriented to moderate experimentation, without losing sight of the compositional immediacy and the melodic aspects of songs resulting from evident maturity of writing. The long wait has therefore been fully rewarded and today delivers the profile of an all-round artist.” (translated from Italian)

Haberl remains on the drums for the finale - but with strings, wind instruments and singer Marla Hansen, things take a completely different turn: charming chamber pop is developed, with Hansen accompanying herself first on the viola and then on the guitar. A wonderful evening that is all too rare in Freiburg.

“Whether Hansen plucks a viola like an acoustic guitar or switches to the guitar, music sometimes blossoms for her like a flower that can be blown around by every breath of wind, and sometimes like a human flesh-eating plant that grows and bursts unpredictably and domineeringly in songs.” (translated from German)
